At the age of 37 still there is more to achieve in Volleyball field for the Kenyan Star Dorcas Ndasaba who was chosen as the Most Impressive Player in their match against Thailand where the African team was near to achieve the first ever victory over a non African team in the history of the World Cup. After more than 13 years at the international level since her first appearance with the Kenyan National team in 1994, Ndasaba managed to continue her volleyball international career although she faced the most difficult situation in her life when she was dropped from the final squad selected for this World Cup before returning back in the last minute after a big revolution from the local media who thought that her absence wasn’t due to technical causes. In the World Cup Ndasaba proved her consistency and comes as the most prominent players in the Kenyan squad and she is the team’s best scorer in this prestigious FIVB event.
When Ndasaba was dropped from the World Cup squad 2 days before the team departure from Nairobi to Japan, all the Media specially press attacked the decision which was followed by a last minute recall for the team captain ahead of departure. That reaction showed how much respect the Media put in Ndasaba and her value to the team. Although Ndasaba lost her position as a team captain in this competition to her near colleague Catherine Wanjiru, she remained the main engine in her team’s psychology and motivations.
