A bit too much hope
Perhaps teams outside of Asia don’t rate the Asian teams because physically sometimes they don’t look as big, but they pack a bit of punch and if you aren’t on your game and you are a top team, they will get you, because they have the skill. The Kenyan team seemed to think their game against Japan was their first winnable one, which is strange since they don’t think they could beat Poland, but Japan beat them in this tournament already… anyway, Japan showed them otherwise beating them very convincingly in three and 25-8 in the last set.
Kenya players are psyched to take on hosts Japan in the Federation of International Volleyball World Cup at Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Centre today.
Assistant captain Praxcides Agala said although Japan will put up maximum efforts to satisfy home fans, Kenya will play a good game to score more points and improve on individual rankings.
“The match against Japan will not be that easy because being hosts they will want to show their fans that they can play,” Agala said after Kenya’s match against Italy at Hokkaido Gymnasium.
“Morale is high in the team and confidence has been increasing as we play more matches and we’re hoping to put up a good show,” Agala said.
Kenyan players have shown improvement in attack and reception and if the form is maintained then they stand to gain more points from Japan. more the standard
