Loiola, new USA boy
Brazilian Beach Volleyballer player Loiola has been successful in his bid to be able to wear the US uniform. FIVB reports.
The FIVB has authorized the former Brazilian Beach Volleyball player José Loiola to represent U.S.A. in the competitions sanctioned by the FIVB. The player born in 1970 in Vitoria, Brazil, has completed his official route to obtain the U.S.A. nationality. The Brazilian Volleyball Federation, United States Volleyball Association and Loiola have submitted all documentations to the FIVB in accordance with the FIVB Sport regulations and all requirements have been met by the above parties.
Loiola had a long and successful career paired with Olympic Champion Emanuel Rego, from 1998 until an unlucky experience in Sydney: they were number 1 team but failed the top and only managed to reach the 9th place. After this experience, Loiola built another successful Brazilian team with Ricardo Santos, winning 5 tournaments from 2001 to 2002.
His former team-mates then joined together to form one of the teams which will remain in the history of Beach Volleyball.
