Chinese teams recieve a moral booster

Chinese star Tang Miao is reportedly recovering well in hospital after an accident in June nearly left him paralyzed. The accident occured during a warm up for a friendly against Russia. This will surely provide a moral boost to both the mens and women’s teams for their upcoming competitions. He was a star for the mens team, and he is married to the captain of the womens team, Zhou Suhong.

TANG Miao, a star volleyball player on the Chinese men’s national team, can once again speak and eat after he was almost paralyzed from a neck injury during warm-up exercises prior to a friendly match in Russia in June. Tang is now reportedly capable of saying some simple words. He opened his mouth several days ago, during which he thanked doctors and nurses, according to a source in Shanghai’s Ruijin Hospital, where Tang was hospitalized. He is also able to eat porridge, among other non-solid foods offered by the hospital. A slash on his throat is also healing, according to the source. The slash was caused by surgery to save his life. The accident happened in St Petersburg on June 16 as part of events celebrating the “Year of China in Russia.” Tang’s wife, Zhou Suhong, captain of China women’s national volleyball team, visits the hospital three or four times a day, according to Xiandai Jinbao, a newspaper in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. more Shanghai Daily
