In the 2004 Olympic Games the women’s volleyball team should be among top four and men’s volleyball team to get the qualification for the Olympics. And in the 2008 Olympic Games the women’s volleyball team should be made capable enough to strive for the championship and the men’s volleyball team to enter the top eight. More at People Daily
Well, the Chinese Womens team won in 2004, the men didn’t qualify. The women have a significantly younger and weaker team this year, though still being one of the top in the world, are not the favourites. The men have failed to qualify for the World Cup this year, finishing fourth at Asian Championships. They have a few avenues left in which to qualify, but it is a long road ahead. Perhaps their predictions aren’t too far off?
